playing catch-up
22 September 2002 23:13"Why Julia, where have you been?" you ask. Or maybe it's more of a, "Oh crap, she's going to post again!" Heehee.
Friday night's party was fun. I, like
tank182, found the perfect level of intoxication... as my cell phone usage history will show. ;) There were a lot more people that I didn't know there than I thought there would be... I guess John, Chase, and Brooke do have other circles of friends, gasp. ;) I hope Brooke has a wonderful time in Japan!!!
I think I got in my bed around 2 or 3am that night, still not sober, but I was awake and ready for the day at 10:30. I did have some weird urges though: to put on makeup and to go to the mall. So I did these things, as well as go to Panera to try to visit Elise. Although I had to make do with eating a very good sandwich when it turned out she wasn't there.
The mall was such a let-down. I always expect there to be lots of things that I like, and hopefully a large selection of things, but alas it seems like every store wants to sell brown, leather, and peasant-gear. And pre-worn-look jeans. Sigh. There was a pair of pink cords at Hot Topic that were great, but they didn't fit me... They were several inches too long in length and several inches not wide enough in the rear. If only I were built like a larger Elise, I think I might find more clothes.
There were other things I was going to do on Saturday, but as all of you saw, I was suddenly struck with the long-distance-relationship-blues. So I stayed at home and talked to Jason - we had a 75-minute phone call where he did a great deal of talking!! That was monumental. It made me much happier.
Then I worked for over 10 hours Saturday night - 6pm to about 4:30. I came home with $80 in tips. That was nice.
I had a very weird dream last night where the University turned the dorms into concentration camps and imprisoned all of the students. There was very little room and conditions were horrible. Scott (
scottage) was there, somehow a resident of Oklahoma and a student of OU, and because of mystical connections he was able to go free and take me with him. Once we were free we were able to come and go as we pleased, so I returned to bring my friends food and other happy items. I found out that one way to be set free was to pay your entire bursar bill in full - very difficult for some people. As I was walking around, I heard Waylon discussing something loudly with one of the 'guards'. I hoped that he was making his way out. As he kept talking, I gradually woke up and realized that a very loud Waylon in my living room had awakened me. There were more people there than him (goldbug, Penny, and Ty at least), but he was the loudest. Waylon's laugh is very loud. So I stumbled out there, informed them they were being very loud, and went back to bed. I still don't know what time it was, except it was light out. Goldbug says I wasn't too rude, which I'm happy about.
I awoke for good at 3. I was idle for quite a bit, and then I hit a spurt of energy where I cleaned up some parts of my room, completely changed all the litter in the litterbox, and did dishes. Then it was time for work again, at 6, and that's where I was until about 10:30. Then I got to come home, I did some fiddling with finances, and decided to post.
Matrix just thought that lying directly atop the mouse was a good place. I relocated her to my lap, but she has spurned me.
Oh, I forgot to mention that one of the ex-assistant-managers from Papa John's got arrested at the store last night... He quit a week or two ago because of disagreements with the other AMs and store people. Then he shows up last night, drunk, trying to pick fights with some of those he didn't get along with. Some of the neutral parties tried to ask him politely to leave the store, but it didn't happen. So they tried to force him. I had to leave during this time, but I saw it starting to get physical. By the time I returned to the store it was all over and apparently he had been arrested. It's a freakin' soap opera... And it's too bad, because for a long time he was a really great manager, and then he just up and turned crazy. Sigh.
Slept until 3pm today... I suppose I'll be awake for a while, but I really should sleep so I can make it to my 8:30 class.
