I'm alive!
9 July 2001 12:28Wow, is anyone shocked that I made it 2 1/2 days without seeing a computer? That's quite an achievement for me. Oh well, I had other things to occupy my time. ;)
My weekend:
Friday: Dropped computer off at Best Buy @8:45. Drove to the airport. Found out Jason's flight was delayed. Sat in the airport restaurant until they closed at 9:30, then went to wander around for a while. Finally plopped down at the gate and decided to pass the time until the plane arrived (10:45) by seeing how much of Rent I could sing word-for-word. Got to "Would You Light My Candle" when the plane arrived. :) Went home, went to bed.
Saturday: Woke up at 9. Left the house at 9:45 to pick up my sister and Blake at their apartment, then drove up to Bartlesville. Turns out that the Rent CDs last about 2 minutes less than a trip from Edmond to Bartlesville. Spent the day with family, eating and watching baseball and playing Jason's Gameboy Advance. :) Drove back in the evening, got home at 1am, went to bed.
Sunday: Slept in, woo! Snuggled. Took Jason to the mall to buy me a new bellybutton ring from Hot Topic (he owes me $30, I'm not just making him buy me something), but their selection was dismal for some reason. We then went to Hasting's and rented the Pokemon movie on DVD and another PS2 game for Jason (Shadows of Destiny, it's really cool!). Then, Marble Slab for ice cream!! (or frozen yogurt). Stopped by Red's to look at their jewelry collection but they were closed. Went home, and had a Pokemon marathon. Watched the first 9 episodes on video and then the movie. Woo hoo! Jason played a bit of Shadows of Destiny while I took a shower, and then it was bedtime again.
Today: Woke up at 8:30. Decided I didn't want to wear shorts today, so put on a skirt and walked to class. Took the bus home. Jason was STILL in bed (10:30). Woke him up while attempting to justify myself going back to bed, but eventually gave up and came to work, leaving him behind with the cats and a PS2 to keep him company. *sigh* I'm going to leave work a little early today to take him to get a haircut and try Red's again, and then we'll go to the lab and order pizza! and play on the computers! :)
So, Saxon instituted a new dress code policy that includes "hair color considered to be outside the natural variety of tints should not be visible in the office", so (on the suggestion of my boss) I come to work wearing a hat and take it off when I enter my office. My boss agrees with me that it's a crock if someone tries to make a case that somehow me having a purple streak of hair affects my job (talking on the PHONE). It's also against the rules for me to show off my navel piercing, but I don't wear anything that revealing to work anyway because it's so FRIGGIN COLD in here.
Well, back to the grind. Someone get on ICQ so I can talk to you!!
