First impressions:
1) bizarre
2) thought provoking
3) very Kubrick
Actual conversation between Rachel and I:
me: (12:45 AM) take Pinocchio and Bladerunner (and Bicentennial Man, according to Randen, I haven't seen it) and mix them together
coolgirl23: (12:45 AM) never saw bladerunner or bicentennial man.
me: (12:45 AM) well take Pinnochio, make it sci-fi, fuck it up a bit, and there ya go. heh
I'm not sure whether to say it was a good movie or not. I definitely suggest seeing it. I am having difficulty finding the words for what I got out of it. Randen got something radically different than I did - the movie left him with a profound sadness, a depressing message about humanity... I'm not sad after it. I really don't know what I feel. Well, no, I feel bothered because I don't know what I feel. Maybe it's just because I'm too tired to think about the movie much. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow.
