Lots of talking on phones to insurance people today. Found out that after I turn 22, and get kicked off the plan, I can apply for a Temporary Continuation of Coverage that lasts for 36 months! I don't know if that means I get my own policy and have to pay the monthly fees and the deductable all over again or not... Which is why I have to call back yet again. They need these answers online. ;)

Finally took some pictures of my dress.

There was one spot on the back of the dress where the flowers weren't destroyed, so I took a picture of that so you'd know what they were supposed to look like overall.

The destroyed flowers, a section of the back of the skirt.

The top front, closer-set flowers and therefore more obviously not supposed to be like that.

Just a kind of general view of the lower front of the dress.

So, yeah. Stuff.

I'm feeling weirdly spacey. Like maybe for some reason the Zoloft today is screwing with my head more.

do you plan to take any action against the dry cleaners? like asking them to pay for the dress they ruined?

Nope, they only did what they were told. I mean, the dress says "dry clean only", and they dry cleaned it. I can't prove otherwise.

did you at least not pay for the dry cleaning? i mean, yeah, they probably didn't do anything wrong, but it is ruined to you now... :(

No... I didn't think it was worth bothering with.

Zoloft

Can't remember exactly how Zoloft works, but I think it's a reuptake blocker, which means it takes time to kick in, and changes in dosage to take effect. Likewise, changes in metabolism and/or blood chemistry can also have an effect both on the functionality of the drug and it's side effects.

Just out of curiosity, will they let you give plasma if you're taking prescription Zoloft? Since the effects of just about any drug that has to pass through the blood/brain barrier are deliberately slow dispersing, seems like anyone who got a few quarts of your blood might find themselves a little bit spaced out as well.

(P.S. Got the big brown box marked 'Pants' today. I'll make sure that everyone gets their appointed items. [Though now I have to find a spot to put Scott's "gift" until I see him again])

Nod, it's an SSRI. And it does take time to kick in, which is probably why I'm just now starting to notice the increase in the dosage.

I don't think there's a problem giving plasma, actually. They read off a whole list of things to you before you give, every single time, and I've never heard any SSRIs on that list. There are hormonal treatments, things for hair growth and acne medication, but as far as I know, not Zoloft. However, they might have a "have you recently taken any medication" question that I just don't remember.

Glad you enjoyed the pants. ;)

Make sure you discreetly leave Mike's presents somewhere in his house. Maybe give each one to a son?

Will do. Whenver the hell we go over there next. Maybe we'll all get together and catch the premeire of 'Porn Star: The Ron Jeremy Story' (Ron Jeremy will be presenting it himself) or see Westley Willis play at the Capitol Garage the next night (It whips a llama's ass!)
Don't thing either of his kids would be invited along though...

?I want to see the ron jeremy story! that sounds hysterical. I've seen wesley willis... it's both awesome and unnerving at the same time. you feel vaguely guilty, because you realize that you're laughing at this fat crazy guy who may or may not really realize this fact. but at the same time, he's gotta be some kind of twisted genius.

I think it's pretty much a given that we'll go out and meet Ron Jeremy at the premiere, but I'm not quite sure I want to shake his hand. Maybe I can get him to bless something for me. A pack of condoms, maybe?

Hmmmm.... do I make the scathing comment or not... aw hell, sure.

Maybe then you will actually get a chance to use 'em!

Maybe... ;-)

By the way. Scott should be discovering his "present" right about now.

I took Zoloft for awhile
I remember it spacing me out while I was going on it.
It also made me really jittery and hyper for awhile.

I think the best thing to do is to see how it goes once you're on it for awhile. Most people I know seem to have taken a couple different SSRI's before they found the right combination of effect and side effect. I'm taking Effexor now, and it seems to be doing the trick with minimal problems. It's the one that has the most potential bad side effects, I think, but I haven't really run into many of them.

The other thing thats important is to make sure your friends tell you if you start going crazy. I took St. John's Wart for awhile and it worked for my depression, but it was like I was really pissed off and edgy for awhile. I eventually found out that a bunch of people who take St. John's Wart have that happen to them. It's kind of funny, actually, because a lot of places reccomend taking St. John's Wart to calm you down.
