[livejournal.com profile] laurion (who runs The Acapodcast) pointed me to this today on Twitter: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130706090

It's a small "desk concert" (the group came into the NPR offices and recorded there, surrounding people's desks) of the early vocal music group Stile Antico. They're really good.

I know several people reading this interested in pre-1800s music. :)

Oh yes. Awesome!

However I dispute teh potential for lack of funny. Well, I suppose it's all in context. I mean one could make "Now is the month of Maying" quite entertaining. It's the delivery.

In theory, one of the songs that we sang last night would have been set pre-1800s. Of course, it wasn't in Latin nor Olde English. But singing it in Salem as "Halloween Carolers" dressed all in black and smiling with glee (much like Maddy Prior's disturbing grin throughout the video) seemed to elicit the desired response from the audience. ;)
