juldea: (sleepy)

So yesterday was a very busy day. I woke up at 7:30, exercised with Kathy (on video), took a shower, and went to work for a few hours. I came home to Jason at noon and we went out on an errands run. We ate at Pad Thai (my first time since leaving for California, and they still remembered me and made me yummy flat noodles, yay!), went and filled my car with gas, got a Walmart application, got the oil changed in my car, put $20 on my OU OneCard (which I know now I can charge online through that webpage), and did 3 loads of laundry. Then, we tackled the house. Goldbug's room was COMPLETELY emptied of anything belonging to me - things were either put in the hall closet (which got completely re-arranged) or in boxes (all my sewing projects went into one big box). The clothes of mine we moved into my closet (which is really cozy now). The floor was swept and mopped, and the new dresser that Lyle and Karen dropped off earlier was put in. I cleaned out the drawers of the desk that I am (maybe?) letting goldbug use, and had Jason put my umpteen envelopes of pictures into the photo albums I bought for them oh, a year ago. Then, it was time to tackle MY room. I dug out the two large boxes of collected junk from under my bed and actually went through them and threw stuff away (or threw it in recycling bins). I got rid of SO much stuff. There are still things kept, like scupltures and candles and some papers, but wow... I cleared out those two boxes. I put the new box (sewing projects) under the bed. Folded/put away the new clean laundry. Swept and mopped MY room. Moved one of the bookshelves from the living room into my room, next to the nightstand. Moved another bookshelf across the living room to the place where the old one was. Moved my hanging rack (the bra rack, as most of you would know it) to the inside of my door, not because goldbug is moving in, but just... because. Also found a over-the-door little hook thing and made it my hanger for my new black coat. Oh, and found the mysterious remaining cat-pee smell - as I was rolling up my long blue rug in my room to sweep, I saw that visible from the bottom (the white rubber lining) was a large yellow stain. Since the rug is old, filthy, and was only like $10 anyway, it got rolled up and put next to the dumpster outside. Hey, it was gone when I came home this morning - putting stuff there is like the Parkview flea market.

All in all, two full trash bags went out, as well as another load of just stuff in my arms to throw in the dumpster (or set beside it). The apartment looks pretty different, and I'm sure it'll only get better from here.. :)

One of the things I've thought of in this mess is that I'd like to use an actual desk now, and not this table anymore. I need drawers, dammit! Does anyone have a desk lying around (well, anyone in the Norman area) that they are not using that they'd donate or sell? Goldbug said she would be okay with using the table and I could use the desk I'm letting her use, but for some reason I'm rebelling against that one. Maybe I just want something new (to me). Anyway, let me know...

Hmm. 2 hours until Kate's goodbye party at the Mont. I'm a sleepy kid (got up at 8:30 today), but there's more rearranging I want to do before goldbug moves in tomorrow. Arrgh...

There is a desk at my place that you can have. It's one of the cheap assemble-yourself Sauder Woodworking desks from Wal-Mart. It doesn't have actual drawers, but it does have two shelves (with adjustable middle shelf) and a hutch. I discarded it when I got my L-desk, and you can have it in exchange for the labor involved in removing it from my place.

Awesome! Are you going to be around tomorrow evening, when goldbug and I have someone with a truck moving furniture around?

I might be a little late but you might check this furniture re-seller on 23rd street. They are right across the street from Thai House II. Great place. The owner re-models hotels and everything he takes out that's still good he keeps and re-sells.

That's pretty cool. If Janke's desk doesn't work out (if it breaks on me or something) I could check it out. Or just go there and look around for the fun of shopping :)

It's pretty interesting to look around in. The place reminds me of a huge garage sale. Always something interesting to look at.
