Well, if you've read goldbug's journal you already know everything that happened to me yesterday, but I will now fill in the details (and a few things that people DON'T know).
Well, you know I dyed my hair brown. I am happy with the results. There is a little red still peeking through in places, but overall it is brown and one color. I will put pictures up when my camera has batteries again (they're charging right now).
Goldbug and I went on a long, long, long, long shopping trip. Here's the breakdown:
Gas/food/laundry/household goods: $38.25
Presents for other people: $102.64
Presents for me: $73.83
Total: $219.77
I really hope my dad is giving me money for Christmas. ;) Anyway, we ate at Thai House II in OKC, and it was fairly decent. Goldbug's curry had an interesting new spice in it, but mine didn't and was fairly bland for a green curry. I mean, it was good, but not special. Oh, and their spring rolls are HUGE - you only get three of them, but it takes about 5 minutes to get through one. The dipping sauce is very NOT karen-friendly, covered in peanuts.
Then we dropped by Vintage Plus and 23rd Street Body Piercing, since we were in the area. I didn't get anything at either of those places.
Then... dun-dun-dunnn... the mall! We did a Julia-style mall walk at Crossroads, starting at the upper level on one end, walking to the other end, going downstairs, and coming back. Stopping in stores as they catch the eye. I'm not going to list EVERY store I stopped in, just the ones I bought stuff at... hehe...
First there was Rave, where goldbug and I got matching long black wavy-patterned velvet coats (which you will DEFINITELY get a picture of, they're hard to describe but so beautiful), and I also got a new bra/underwear set and .. a g-string... my first one... we will see how that works out. The set was purple velvety with a silver star/moon pattern... Oh, and Rave doesn't have much for actual Raves. Serious lack of big pants... Depressing. But otherwise some neat stuff.
Then we saw a store called Deb, and went in to check it out. It looked promising for big pants, but also failed to deliver. However, it was a very good thing that we went in there, because they had a huge pajama section, and you know what kind of pajamas they had? Purple velvety with a silver star/moon pattern! The exact same as the set I got in the other store, but now in a tank/pant pajama. Um, need I say that I got it? Now I have a funny matching lounge-around-the-house set. I think it's rather awesome.
Oh, I failed to mention that the very first store we went into was a maternity wear store. I realized that I have a fascination with tummy panels. They're just so weird! I mean, you see jeans that look like they came right out of the gap or something, with this tummy panel on them...
Let's see. I stopped in Babbage's and got Jason's christmas present... Which was really heavy... I guess it's too late for him to read what it is now, seeing as he's on the plane, so I got him a subwoofer/2 sattelite speaker set that is compatible with a PS2 as well as computer, walkman, DVD player, MP3 player (which he got for christmas), etc etc. It looks really cool and he doesn't have good speakers, so I hope he likes it!
Nothing in Hot Topic... oh, there were these awesome pants on sale in Rue 21... they are woolen and a hideously wonderful red/fuscia plaid... I had to get them. They're just a bit to small for me now but hey, that's the plan...
I think that was it for me, actually. We watched some -really- good guys playing DDR in the mall arcade for a while, then came back to Norman. We stopped by another store to pick up another present, then came home. But were we done? Oh no. We came back to pick up the shirt I had bought at Walmart that hadn't fit, so that we could go there and return it. Which we did, as well as me buying laundry detergent and toothpaste. THEN we came back here, for good.
I sorted all my laundry, including the new stuff, and got it going in the laundrimat (found out I only had $2 left on my card, so I went to the ATM, got $10, ran by taco bell for food, and used my change to do laundry). Then I came home, and cleaned the stove. It involved a lot of paper towels and scrubbing. After getting the laundry in the dryer, I came back and cleaned the fridge. It turns out that gremlins got under the vegetable drawer and had stomach problems - or at least that's what it looked like. The bottom of the fridge was covered in this disgusting brown-black greasy goop. But now it's clean... completely... I felt so much like Rachel because the smell of the laundry detergent was REALLY NICE, and I cleaned a lot. And my feet hurt (from all the mall walking). ;)
Then, um... I folded laundry... played some DDR on my new pad, which is really nice, only I was very very tired. Ate some yummy soup by goldbug... did some handwash... went to bed. It was late, and I was tired.
This morning so far I have balanced my checkbook (that's how I know how much I spent yesterday) and well, done this. I need to get going now, get dressed, and get to the doctor's office. Also, eating something might be nice.
Jason arrives at 8:05 in Dallas, so I will leave by 5 since it'll be rush hour and all. I can't wait!
