Someone OTHER than [livejournal.com profile] laura47 was talking to me about PSG Staffing in a claim-them-as-a-reference kind of way, but I don't remember who. Remind me? I think I'm calling them soon, and if someone could make money off of me saying their name, let's go for it.

It wasn't me, but I do invite you to reference me there if it would help you. They were completely useless to me last January, but they originally placed me at Circles, where I stayed happily for two years, and they were happy to hear from me again when I contacted them last year.

It might have been me? I recommend people to PSG whenever I can. They didn't get me my current job, but I was very impressed with their office and their whole operation.

Oh hey, I think it WAS you, at the party a few weeks ago. Hooray.

I'll give them a call now!

Actually I'm pretty sure it was [livejournal.com profile] in_water_writ above. I know that you and I have vaguely talked about temping, but I don't remember ever learning what company you go through.

That said, do you currently use PSG? Because if they provide a bonus to employees who refer other employees, and neither in_water_writ nor anyone else is still an employee of theirs, I could point it your way instead.

Looking for the reference was more because I think that current employees there get a bonus if they refer someone else who works out, and I want to make sure to get a friend of mine the bonus if possible.

Hopefully they can work out well for me. I'm nearing the end of my rope.

I thought I remembered talking about it more specifically during a Sassafrass rehearsal last month, but if you don't, then it's not a big deal.

I do, but if I recall correctly, they make it really difficult for anyone to actually get the bonus -- the referred employee has to work for them for 6 months first, or something silly like that -- and god willing, I'll have found a real job by them. In any case, do as you like -- it's not worth arguing over. :-)

It's also possible I've talked about them to multiple people and just have a really crappy memory...

Yes, hopefully we both are gainfully employed in six months. Good luck!

There's alsoalso a chance it was me. I worked with them some years ago, and if I remember correctly, they were the one temp agency that actually did anything at all for me.

I will admit that my few experiences with PSG have been pretty abyssmal, but that may be just me. In terms of amount of work given me, John Leonard has done the best for me; in terms of how amazing and kind and supportive they were while also giving me work, Atrium has always floored me.

It wasn't me -- I've never used PSG. However, I have used a whole bunch of agencies in the Boston area, and though I don't think any of them would give me a bonus, I'm happy to recommend them. In particular, Preferred Temporaries did very, very well by me, back in the day. They got me lots of work, paid very competitively, and were great folks to work with. This was, of course, back when rocks were soft and dinosaurs roamed the earth, so who knows what they're like now. But I figure they've more than earned a good word from me.

Also, Kelly and Manpower were good to me.

It also wasn't me, but toss me onto the "They got me my current job" pile. I was pretty happy with how they ran things, though I haven't had any experience with them as far as them finding me work. I found them through a Craigslist posting that was from them, which may help your chances...or something.

That said, I distinctly remember hearing about a program where if you sign up early/often enough, sometimes you can come in and get paid a full day to essentially muck around on their computers. Minimum wage, of course, but it's still income.
