The era of the piano has ended. For reference: what took us several hours to move into the apartment took professionals 15 minutes to move out. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

...sigh. Time to save up for a keyboard? (And pilot training, and and and...)

I have a Roland ep7 piano that needs only a power cord and a new home, as I just inherited my grandmother's electronic organ and even in the new house the two would have a hard time finding space under one roof.

Oh my. The Lord taketh away, and the Lord giveth. Guess I can add this to automagic litter box as something I should pick up soon? (Hmmmmm.... will you be around late tomorrow night or early Sunday? I rented a pickup truck for moving from Sat 11am to Sun 11am, and HOPEFULLY all the actual moving will be done Sat evening...)

I have an almost full-length Yamaha digital piano with weighted keys, and I lurve it to bits. Plus, one strong guy/girl can move it all by him/herself. Sometimes you have to give them a beer, but it's worth it.

λ's parents have a piano that is technically λ's but that currently resides in their home in Michigan. They have been talking about shipping it over here for like five years. They have not yet done so. Can't imagine why.

What we've got at the moment is a digital piano, touch-sensitive, top-of-the-line model about fifteen years ago. Therefore not so top-of-the-line now. It isn't my favorite piano in the world. But it's a lot better than nothing, and two guys can carry it. I remember the process of trying to move my childhood piano -- an actual, non-digital piano, and an antique too, made out of mahogany and with real ivory keys -- and there were like eight guys trying to haul it up that flight of steps. They dropped it once and it smashed the stone stairs and became the reason that my parents dropped a couple thou remodeling the steps that year.

None of that represents a very interesting story, I'm afraid. I'm sorry.

One thing I'm not clear on -- did you have the piano moved *into* your new apartment, or just *out of* the old one?

Out of the old apartment, into the apartment of someone I randomly found on LiveJournal when I offered a free piano. New apartment is on the third floor; no way I'm getting a piano up there.
