First Scarf!

This is the first knitting I've ever done! If you can see (click for a larger view), the end of the scarf on the right of the picture has a pocket. The scarf is nice and warm and fuzzy and purple, and a little taller than me (perhaps 64 inches, a little over 2 meters) and made by me!! :)

neat! I didn't know where to stop with my first scarf and it ended up being about 3 metres long and a metre wide.. it was a bit silly really. Love the colour!

You r0xx0r!
I'm so jealous :(
I want to be able to sew and make clothes and stuff...All I can do is cross stitch and hot glue type crafts :-/

Oh wow, that is really beautiful, Julia. If you need someone to make one for, ever, feel free to make one for me. I'll pay postage ;)

Hahaha that sounds great! And yes, isn't the color awesome? [livejournal.com profile] tpau picked the yarn out for me. She must know me pretty well - it's purple!

Well, at this point I do this pretty slowly - that scarf took at least 15 hours, maybe more. I'm sure you don't want to pay my $14/hr for that. ;) If I get to being able to do them quicker, sure!

Knitting is actually really easy once someone shows you how and your fingers memorize the steps... it's just the same thing over and over... Someday I'll teach you if someone else hasn't already. :)

Gah! Sorry, didn't realize you were already at the point where you charge. All my work is either for the University or giftwork for friends so I don't get paid for it other than class credit and big hugs ;P

Speaking of which, our Zelda and Link costumes are really coming along. Can't wait to post them :)

wow, that looks great! I need to learn how to knit one of these days.

Yep, folded it over and hand-sewed it with a regular old needle and thread!

It's so easy! You should definitely learn. It's just time-consuming...

Time consuming is a good thing :)

besides, I have around 4 hours of travel per day (hopefully decreasing soon) that I need to fill in time for....I definitely don't have to worry about not having time.

Laugh, I'm not at the point where I charge... I was just pointing out how long it takes to make one. $14/hr is what I make at my Job, that's why I quoted it. Heh. I would indeed make you one for absolutely free, IF I had the free time. :)

Exactly - I did a lot of work on this on the bus and train to and from work and Worcester. It's great for that.

No, I'm generally cold. The scarf, however, is warm. ;) ;)

That scarf looks great. Man, I wish I could do stuff like that.

I like the sticker on the glasses, too. :)

That sticker bothers so many people... much more than it bothers me. ;)
