sewing day
10 September 2003 17:21I sewed today!! It's been a while since I hit the machine, so I did a few simple things (fixing straps, etc) before trying something from semi-scratch...
This was a robe of my grandmother's originally. It didn't fit around me in the chest (and I don't need a robe), so I made a skirt out of it.
Front:

Back:

That blue in the middle of the back was the front edge of the robe. I cut it out all the way up and around the neck, disconnected it, and ended up with strips that I tied in a bow at the top of the skirt. :)
*happy*

on 10 Sep 2003 15:56 (UTC)The part of the robe's edge that existed -above- the waistline is tied into a bow and has short dangling ends.
The part of the robe's edge that existed below the waistline is sewn together from the waist down to about knee level, making a full-length panel, with a slit from knees down.
Did that make sense?
