I bought the pants. And a Gameboy Color (teal) and a copy of Pokemon Yellow. I kind of found out I had a surplus of money. ;)

I'm really worried about this sleep thing. I can either find some way to fight it, or give up on exercising (waking up early) and going to class (one more week) and doing anything at all after working at the lab. But it's sad that for some reason, starting last week, 7 hours of sleep leaves me unable to stand up from exhaustion. I was doing fine before then... and I don't think it's linked in any way to Jason's leaving. I don't think it's depression-related because I don't feel emotionally or mentally depressed. I'm fairly positive that even without my computer's food database I had going, I'm still eating 1200 calories a day (in fact I think I'm eating more), which is what I've been doing for the past 2 months with no effect. I don't mind going to class, in fact, I like going there because I like what I'm studying right now. So someone please tell me what's wrong??

*sigh*

In other news, I'm wearing a skirt today. But I think I'll change into jeans to go to the lab. I hate being cold.

And I want Chinese food.

maybe you're just bored... i know i've been tired a lot lately and i think it is at least partly because i can't go do some of the things i want since it's hot.

But, see, all the thinsg I want to do don't involve going outside much. I want to go to class, which involves going outside but early in the morning and it's not that hot (at least I ride my bike in jeans and survive every morning), and i want to exercise (in my house with the AC pointed at me) and I want to go to work and talk to people online and mud and read webcomics... I just can't seem to get awake in the mornings is all. It's a physical thing, not mental/emotional.

maybe you aren't getting enough of some nutrient? are you taking a multivitamin?

or it could be that you need more than 7 hours of sleep, and the deficit has caught up with you.

or it could be mono. i hope not. in new zealand, they call mono "glandular fever".

or you could be pregnant. i can't remember the last time 7 hours of sleep was enough for me. it was definitely not within the last 8 weeks.

probably not a problem for you, but another thing that *could* cause it is insufficient protein. goldbug's idea of a multivitamin is a good one, too.

speaking of multivitamins, i hope you are taking some for the baby...and it just occurred to me that people give their kids multivitamins, and thus i wondered if some people give their pets multivitamins? i know lots of pets get pills, and i'm sure they don't need extra vitamin pills because they should get a balanced diet in their food, but i can really see pet vitamins as something marketed to rich people who want their pets to have the very best.

oh ugh, yes, i'm taking my vitamins. not every day, i must admit, but most days. they make me feel even sicker.

there's a great conspiracy out there to keep pregnant women as sick and useless as possible. prenatal vitamins are known for 2 major side effects: nausea and constipation. 2 of the most unpleasant symptoms of early pregnancy (even without the vitamins) are nausea and constipation. harrumph. they want the best for my baby? why not give me vitamins in an easy to digest, good tasting, non-nausea-inducing formula? like flintstones vitamins... or those smurf vitamins! we only got them once, but i remember them still... yum.

anyway, that was a big rambly. i'm sure pets who eat regular pet food don't need vitamins... but, like everything else, i'm sure they're out there for people who have the money to buy them.

I am taking a women's multivitamin, plus extra suppliments of C, E, B1,2,3,6,and 12 (maybe others), and calcium. I don't think it's that. ;)

It could be that. But it would horribly ruin any schedules I want to make for my life if I need more than 7-8 hours. Going to bed at 11 to wake up at 8? Yuck.

I doubt I have mono. I've had mono before, and it's extremely rare to get it twice. Plus, those glands in my neck aren't swollen (one of the first symptoms).

Heh. I'm not pregnant :) And yes, I know. (Not going into details here for Randen's benefit, grin)

Nod, protein isn't a problem for me, every day I either have some meat of some kind or tuna or a veggie hamburger/hot dog...

Maybe iron?

Oh is he? I wouldn't know.

I doubt it's related at all.

yeah, iron's a good possibility. most women's multivitamins have a lot of iron in them. :)

Yeah, I checked this morning and my multivitamin has 150% DV of iron... And I think slimfast shakes have some in them too, so I don't think it's a deficiency in that.

i guess my suggestion would be to try to get a bit more sleep, and/or eat a bit more. maybe try one for a week and see if it works...if not try the other.

what great advice. i've been following the first bit for weeks now. :)

you'll be so proud. last night i slept from 11:30 to 8:30, and then 10 to 1. i guess that last part was today, not last night, but... you get the point.
