I unleashed the full brunt of my fangirl on [livejournal.com profile] contradictacat earlier, but I figure I should do so here too in order to perhaps rope more of you in. No spoilers, feel free to read!

I listened to three new-to-me episodes of Second Shift today. I left work at 5 and did some shopping (I ripped my only pair of khakis this morning, sigh), listening to episode 8, "Trust Me," the first 'dark' episode of the series, which bothered me so much that I took a break from looking at pants to just sit down and take a moment. And listen to the whole episode twice. ;) Even though it totally messed with my head and put characters I liked in bad situations - or perhaps because of these things - I judged it one of the most moving episodes I had heard yet.

Then I took the train to Davis Square and looked around a few more stores there while listening to episode 9, "Civil War." This ep didn't tug at my emotions in the same way, and in fact I felt it was kind of a filler ep.

Walking home from Davis, I listened to ep. 10, "The Dance," which is the BEST episode so far! My two main reactions from this episode: omg! and lol! Acronyms aside, this episode caused me to exhibit odd behavior on the sidewalk through Cambridge: doing a small wiggle-dance with joy, stopping to clap my hand over my mouth and laugh, and just grinning ear-to-ear for a good portion of the walk. There were more outbursts of laughter from this episode than any of the others so far. It was so satisfying!

I have found my Second Shift OTP. ;)

Accomplished this morning:

  • Slept in, meaning set the alarm for 8:00 and hit it FIVE TIMES! until 8:45. Normally londo doesn't let me do this, but he's out of town so I can!
  • Was bothered during this by cats, who pushed open the bedroom door and came to investigate me and the loud noise. Must fix door latch.
  • Made up July's budget. Whoa, where did I get money? Hooray!
  • This includes my credit-card-paying-off plan - card #3 due to be paid off in full mid-July! Hooray!
  • Cancelled that CC's identity theft protection plan ($9.99) and enrolled in USAA's ($4.95).
  • Checked credit score - 728! My score is now "Excellent."
  • I will now go make breakfast and get dressed and...
  • ...go to Melville Keep and pick some fresh strawberries for work.

Oh - I have $100 of my economic stimulus check that I'm keeping for a present to me (the other $500 went to that CC that's being paid off next month.) What material possession have I been wanting lately that's a total splurge purchase? I'm kind of afraid of my prevailing thought (get a (small, tasteful, been thinking about it for four years) tattoo.)
