Well, I made it five months, but it's time for another edition of Random Injury Theater.
Right knee again. Approx. three days ago, I noticed it felt stiff, but not painful. Just ... rusty, I guess. Same the next day. Yesterday, I woke up and the pain had started. I began using one of my canes that I keep around because I tend to get injured like this, and went with londo to brunch at Johnny D's in Davis Square. This very nearly wiped me out for the rest of the day. I managed to make it to work today with the cane, but there's no way I'm making it home without crutches or a cab. I think I still have
redknight's crutches at home, but since londo can't get them to me until a couple hours after I'm off work, I guess it's cabbing for me.
So yeah. Feels like my knee is just full of cement. It's heavy, thick, and painful to move in any way. I'm taking 800mg of ibuprofen just to make it through the day.
The good news? I had a doctor's appointment - just a general new-doctor checkup - planned for tomorrow morning anyway. So now I can just show up with a conveniently-timed injury.
I burst into tears this morning after only the hassle of taking a shower. I really hate these unknown injuries.
EDIT: past knee injuries: late March '07 (locked post), early January '06. Found several other back & ankle injuries that occurred in the past two years, too, plus the wrist spraining that I had just a few months ago. Sigh.
