juldea: (roar!!!)
Well, fuck. Pardon the expletive, but that really sums up the situation.

I'm what, two weeks healed from the back injury, and I find myself unable to walk again. This time because of my ankle.

I was walking at Quincy Market in Boston today with my friends Paul/Vraal and Heath/Kendis, and I stepped on some uneven pavement and rolled my foot. I fell straight down, boom. It hurt and I sat and swore for a minute. But as I rolled my foot around it started going away, so I got up and walked on it. It was sore, but not too bad to walk. Still, I called it a night soon and came home. I layed (correct verb form?) on the couch to watch a movie, and pretty much didn't move the whole time.

When the movie was over I moved, and OH HOLY SHIT THAT HURT. I then realized this was more than something I'd walk off. I hopped into the kitchen, got a bag of ice, and tied it on with a dishrag. Then I got a folding chair to use as substitute crutches and hopped around the apartment looking for a pair of crutches. For some reason I remember Jim owning a pair but I can't find them anywhere. Perhaps he got rid of them.
Anyway, now I'm in EXTREME pain, enough to make me cry, and I AM crying, because I have the worst luck in the entire world. I don't have insurance to cover going to the hospital to get x-rays... does anyone know how much that would cost? I don't know if it's broken, sprained, twisted, or what... my mom suggests torn ligaments....

Oh did I mention Jim was gone for the entire weekend? I'm here alone. He doesn't get home until Sunday late night. I do have people coming over before then but now I'm going to be a gimp and not good company. What do I do to deserve this? Is it bad karma?

So, I repeat: fuck. I guess I'll sleep on it (well not ON it, you know what I mean) and see how I feel in the morning. Plus, then I could get a ride from someone if I decide medical attention is necessary rather than paying for an ambulence or taxi. I just hope I can sleep... it's THAT painful. Even when just lying there.

*cry*

Well I woke up. Still painful. The ice had melted but I was able to get more. My current mode of travel is sitting in my rolling chair and pushing myself backwards with my good leg, but that's not doing too well. We have rough carpet, and lots of cords going across doorways, and lots of clutter to hit and get hung up on.

I just don't know what to do. It's iced and elevated. If I had someone here I'd probably try to go to the hospital. But I don't have anyone here.

And I'm mostly naked. But I think that can be dealt with.

Hooray Justin/Omni has a set of crutches and an ace bandage and he's going to bring them over in about an hour!! Yay! It's good to be a Three Kingdoms player :P

I've been talking to my friends' mom, a nurse, and from I'm describing to her she is worried that I have a possible hairline fracture. :P Sigh. So many different opinions.

So, Justin/Omni was able to bring over crutches, an ace bandage, an air cast, and some weird ointment stuff that supposedly heals bruises and sprains. There's still no bruise, but the overwhelming majority of information is in the sprain direction. Oh, he brought over movies, too, so now I've finally seen Reservoir Dogs. One of those "modern culture" movies it's important to see. It was indeed good.

Yay crutches. It's been a while since I was on crutches... 5 years? Wow. And that was the OTHER leg ;)

Justin had to go, but now Mike/[livejournal.com profile] karlean7 is coming over :) We are going to watch Sex and the City and be a wonderful fag/hag pair. He also claims that he will help me clean! What a nice boy!!!

Oh, Justin and I went out for thai today, and found an AWESOME deal at the restaurant nearby. Their Saturday lunch special (available from 12-4) is an entree plus a cup of soup and a little appetizer sampler (today there were four things - a spring roll, a crab rangoon, a weird fried tofu thing, and a weirder unidentifiable sweet thing) PLUS white/brown/fried rice or pad thai or lo mein. All for the price of just the entree, normally. It was gooooood. I think I should go every Saturday.

Taking a shower tonight will be fun. I will probably use my broken-leg method of dragging a metal folding chair into the shower and sitting down.
