Today I woke up quickly, felt rested, and even woke up before my alarm clock....
Because the power had gone out and the alarm clock was wrong. Turns out I woke up at 9:30. Whee for missing 2 more classes.
All in all, though, I'm not feeling bad about it, because there's nothing I could have done. I mean, I think it sucks that I missed more class, but hey. Who would've forseen the power going out? I don't even know HOW it went out! It didn't storm badly as far as I know... a little rain... oh well.
I put my P Math homework in Dr. Guteman's mailbox (I hope he takes it, due in class today), my German essay in Dr. Thompson's mailbox (I hope she takes it, due yesterday before 4), and gave my discrete math homework to Dr. Page (he took it but the highest I can get on it is an 80 because it's two days late). So it's all in, even late, and I can stop worrying.
I left a note for the UPS (wo)man saying to leave my package with the apartment manager, and even told them where the office was if they didn't know. I'm half afraid I'll come back and there will be a note on top of mine saying, "NO!" We'll see.
I want to go see Blast the weekend after next with Anna. Tickets are affordable, it's just getting there and back that's the problem. ~550 miles at ~70 miles an hour is still 8 hours. The show is on a Sunday (not sure if it's the 2pm show or the 7pm show) and I have a dance performance that Saturday morning/afternoon, but I could drive up after that and get to St. Louis latelate at night... That's fine, it's getting back after the show that's the problem. I'm not good with driving while sleepy, so I couldn't drive back overnight. Hmmm.
Oh! I got my New Zealand hoodie from goldbug! It is a great bright green color and I am very happy with it. The only unhappy part is I wore it for all of 5 minutes before spilling soup all over it. Oh well, it got washed in the sink and is now drying in the bathroom. It will be dry enough to wear tomorrow I bet. :)
I will get paid $50 more than I thought I would this week. I don't know where it's coming from, but I'm not complaining. :)
I have one more day's worth of leftover macaroni salad. After that... dundundun....

Well, turns out that UPS either ignored my note that said to leave the package at the apartment manager's, or assumed that the note, being signed by me, was good enough signature for it, because they left the little box between the back door and the screen door. I was happy with this result. I now have my zills (even though I need to put the elastic on them, size it to my fingers' widths, and sew it closed).
Is it bad when the secretary at the office of the college of Arts and Sciences knows my name? I went in there today and she said, "Hi, Julia." I guess I've been in there a lot for changing majors/minors, independent study questions, and lots of other general questions. Heh.
Will everyone else go to The Regents' Scholarship page and confirm to me that it says $1000 per semester? I just got my bursar bill and only $750 was paid to me, which is definitely a lot of money, but I added a class this year specifically because it brought my total to right around $1000 and it wouldn't raise what I had to pay that much. It turns out that I'm going to have to ask my father for almost twice as much each month as he paid last year to cover things. =P
My hoodie treated me well tonight. It was dry by the time I left for dance class, so I wore it over my sports bra for a top. It's very warm (yay), so that I even had to turn on the AC in my car to keep it on!! That's pretty amazing.
While I was gone, Matrix decided that my History of Science course packet was tasty. The back cover is all bitten and eaten. Luckily it doesn't look like she got into any of the actual material.
Why is it that any time I try to share something I think is greatly wonderful with someone, they blow me off? My mother got me a copy of the CD An Evening of Yes: Music Plus (the band's name is Yes, if you haven't heard of them or didn't figure it out), which is a kickass live CD of their last tour with all the original band members (Bruford, Anderson, Wakeman, and Howe) and it features a solo by each of the members. Now, Rick Wakeman, the keyboardist, is wonderful. I don't have words to describe how fantastic this music is, and I want to share it with everyone. I played it for Karen in the lab and she just seemed "eh" about it, which kind of disgruntled me. Then when she and Brendan and I were at her house, I wanted to play it for Brendan, and even though we put it on, after about 30 seconds Karen put a homework problem in Brendan's face and he stopped listening. Does no one want me to share my wonderful findings with them? It took long enough to get Brendan, Chris, Chris, and Thom to watch Cast a Deadly Spell (a movie everyone should see), even though I ranted and raved about it. Is my taste that bad? I'm rather confused.
