juldea: (sleepy)

Back at the grind.

Getting through today will be... interesting. New Year's and its associated celebrations have resulted in a nocturnal sleep schedule for me, which I failed to shift over yesterday when I did NOT have work... Hence, I woke up at 4:30pm yesterday, took a short nap from 4:45-7:15am, and now am at work. Haven't needed to caffeinate yet, but I assume that there's some soda or tea in my future. Assuming [livejournal.com profile] tpau and I are attending our normal WW meeting this evening, I won't be asleep again until 8ish this evening.

Warning: I've only showered once this year!! ;)

Friday was a wonder of accidental socialization. [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia was on the lookout for Something To Do, so I offered myself up for a dinner companion. While on the way home from work, [livejournal.com profile] etherial called, also looking to hang out, and I invited him along. We worked out a deal with cthulhia and her friend [livejournal.com profile] hathor_ to meet for some sushi, and upon arriving there, immediately ran into [livejournal.com profile] siderea who had plans to dine at the same establishment. We all joined up together, ate an immense amount of sushi, (the others) drank a sufficient amount of sake, and (everyone) generally had a grand time. Afterwards, etherial and I returned to my house to wake up [livejournal.com profile] londo and play V:TES long into the night.

...after which I had to wake up early on Saturday morning, but was also able to return to bed a few hours later and sleep until afternoon, cementing my nocturnal cycle for the next few days. Headed out to the Buttery's New Year's party at about 8pm. Ate, drank from a 1 liter bottle of root beer that almost everyone assumed was alcohol of some type, socialized, showed off my knitting, continued the never-ending "knitting at parties" debate with londo (and involved a few new people, notably [livejournal.com profile] 43duckies), got a fun horn-type noisemaker to blow at midnight, shared an absolutely smashing midnight kiss with my sweetheart, and played Trivial Pursuit until... 3:30am? At that point [livejournal.com profile] alexx_kay had been kind enough to promise londo and I a place to sleep, so we trudged over to his house, made up some pallets (I got the cushions!) and crashed.

Woke up 3:30ish on Sunday. Puttered around with [livejournal.com profile] kestrell, [livejournal.com profile] corwyn_ap, and his sweetie for a few hours before [livejournal.com profile] alexx_kay woke up and we (kes, alexx, londo, and I) headed back to the Buttery. Sadly I could only stay for a short while before leaving due to commitments back at home. Eventually londo came back too, and we stayed up late watching episodes of Angel (season 4!) before falling asleep at, um, 3ish? 4ish? No clue.

...but we did wake up at the afore-mentioned 4:30 yesterday. Mm, sleep catchup. Utterly failed to do any housework (laundry and recycling are needed) but I DID get an extraordinary amount of knitting done (all done with the collar! Now it's time to pick up stitches for the body...) and watched two more discs of Angel. Season 4 is full of me yelling at the TV set. We finished a disc at 4:30am, so I decided it was time to catch a FEW Zs before sunrise. And now I'm here.

Hrm. You probably didn't really need that much detail. But, y'know, if I don't keep myself busy here today, I'll fall asleep. ;)

I was *awake* well before you guys were on New Years Day, just caught up in World of Warcrack :-)

Yes, Angel S4 has many scream-worthy moments -- mostly not in a good way. (Although Kes did have me make her MP3s of Lorne singing in Vegas, and of the scene of Wesley having phone sex with Lilah ;-) Luckily, S5 ended the series with much better material.

Could you comment a bit more coherently?

So take it to email? I love dissecting Joss shows, good and bad :-)
