Oh! Oh! That's Goldmoon's Song!

I don't remember the rest of it...

You still win nerd points, no worries. :)

Holy fuck, like Goldmoon from the Dragonlance books????????

I haven't thought of those in years...

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
The exact one. :) I just finished rereading Dragons of Autumn Twilight...

And also...

♥ Yay for geekiness!!

The next question being: do you know the tune to sing it to, as well? :)

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Verra nice.

[identity profile] etherfinker.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Is it a good thing or a bad thing if I have no earthly clue what you're all talking about?

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. That could be answered both ways, really.

It's a song from the Dragonlance trilogy of fantasy books that I first read at age 11 or so. They're cliche as hell but also somehow addictive...

[identity profile] metahacker.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Not only that, but I can sing it from memory. At least the first verse or so.

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Very nice :)

[identity profile] shadowravyn.livejournal.com 2005-11-02 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I made up my own music to that song, and can still sing the entire thing. Kinda startled Shaughn when I was reading that over his shoulder and burst into song.

I should totally find the song and learn the real melody.

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, filk is filk - your version might be much better, in fact. :)

[identity profile] eustacia42.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
There was MUSIC to that? whoa...

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. In the Leaves from the Inn of the Last Home, if I remember correctly. (I can verify this at some point, as I have that book in a box under my bed.)
