I've been thinking about it for a while... I've really never had hair shorter than my shoulders, at least not while I was conscious of such things and making my own hair decisions. I realized I'd never know if I liked short hair if I never tried it... and if I don't like it, well, it grows :) Plus, it takes less time to wash, less time to dry (very important), when it's wet it doesn't get the back of my shirts wet and get me all cold... Generally good things to try. ;)

I like it so far. It's flatter now than in the pictures, since they were taken directly home from the salon and all styled and such, but it's still nice. :)

When I went to pick up Brendan last night for dinner with Rachel (from Japan who is visiting), he didn't know about it... I had my hoodie on and up over my head and my ponytail of cut hair (I'm keeping it for a while for this reason) hidden in my hoodie pocket... and I got him in the living room and said, "Here, catch!" and threw it at him. It was fun :) I did the same to Chris. They weren't totally frightened (Brendan said he guessed, because my head was poofy under my hood), but they were startled I think :)

I wonder if I'm over my 100-word limit.

Yes it was very very weird to wash. I felt like I was only washing my scalp because all the hair fits right there when it's wet, instead of me having to wash all the way down it. I was able to scrub wildly :) Usually I can't get at my scalp well because there's so much hair to lift up and get under.
