yay! research study!

I got accepted to the research study! Yay!

It doesn't start for another two months, though I will be signing papers this week, and my initial weighing/measuring/etc appointment (yay glucose tolerance test!) will be May 23.

It's a sign. 5/23. It's like, the holiest of Discordian holidays. Woot.

OOh research study. Mine's almsot over, then I can start a new one.

Glucose tolerance? Hee hee. I did a lab like that in college. We boosted up our glucose and then let it crash. It was funny. I acted totally drunk.

Oh boy... do I want to be doing this in the morning before work, then? ;)

Depends on exactly what they're doing and what your tolerance is. Other people in my lab were FINE. And you could always be in the control group.

Bastards who were allowed to have coke were fine to (caffeine). I however, could barely string together half a sentence.

Erm, the test is for the entry appointment for an 18-month-long weight research test. The study is NOT about the glucose tolerance... that's just a data point for later. ;)

I am DEFINITELY getting ... glocogin? Whatever it's called.

Not orange, no, but really sweet stuff yes. Ugh, sounds like the workday after that is gonna be grand indeed.

Oh no....

I actually *just* took a glucose tolerance test this morning at eight am as part of a study I'm doing... and I'm working 'til ten thirty tonight, then working again at seven thirty tomorrow morning. I dearly hope I don't crash, 'cause I have pretty much no time to do it in. =\

Oh, but as one not exposed to soda all that often? The orange stuff doesn't really taste that horrible. I mean, it's not like I'd seek it out as a beverage, but it's no worse than fluoride treatments at the dentist's, certainly.

That is awesome! You're so lucky to get all that help and supervision for free.

Not even for free - I get paid! $50 after 6 months, $50 after 12 months, and $100 after 18. Woot.
