[meme] be special

(stolen from [livejournal.com profile] princess_muffin)

1. Name a CD you own that no one else on your friends list does:
New Wave Hits of the 80s: Volume 2

2. Name a book you own that no one else on your friends list does:
Dude, with this friends' list? That includes [livejournal.com profile] guvnor? Crap... uh... Perhaps my first edition Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, or maybe Bored of the Rings. Or hey - my 5th grade yearbook! ;)

3. Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no one else on your friends list does:
The Fountainhead

4. Name a place that you have visited that no one else on your friends list has:
Hrm. Hanauma Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. Dammit, [livejournal.com profile] sleek's been there.

I've been to Hanauma bay :)

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-15 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Dammit! Should've realized that. :P

[identity profile] anitra.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I've actually been there, too. With [livejournal.com profile] nightskyre :)

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! It's a great place. Glad you both saw it.

I own Bored of the Rings. Don't make me start quoting it.

"'This is indeed a queer river,' said Bromosel, as the water lapped at his thighs."

Doesn't look like anyone had to make you start quoting. :)

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Nod, I wasn't sure that it was a definite. :)

[identity profile] nemoalia.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Waylon and I own Bored of the Rings too.

[identity profile] jester-king.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 10:59 am (UTC)(link)

Hmm. I'm just interested in #4. I'd say "the marketplace in Maastricht, the Netherlands," but I know little_liebchen has been there. Anywhere I went in Japan, Nick went too. So... hmm.

[identity profile] oakleaf-mirror.livejournal.com 2004-10-15 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I had to check to see if that was one of the 80s compilations I have on CD (a lot of my original 80s music was on cassette). It seems not, though I know it's one of the ones I've looked at.

I've seen the Fountainhead, but don't own it.

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
The Fountainhead is supposedly really rare... and yet I found a good copy at a flea market for $3. Heh.

[identity profile] londo.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I used to have a first-ed copy of the whole trilogy. No clue where it is now.

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
You should find it, and then give it to me. And then I could keep it, and sell my copies as part of the ginormous Dragonlance set. The fact that I'm not willing to sell all of the books because I want to keep some of the originals has kept me from probably making a hefty sum...

[identity profile] crimson5.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Try harder on the books....... I no longer have either of them, but I've had both of those books at one time ;)

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
You've had my 5th grade yearbook?!!

[identity profile] crimson5.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
No, but dont tempt me to do some research, and attempt to get ahold of one. Hmm....there might be an embarrassing picture in there I could post to the world.....

[identity profile] juldea.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, indeed there is.

New Wave Hits of the 80's by Rhino Records

[identity profile] cristovau.livejournal.com 2004-10-16 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I have Volumes 1-4, 6 and 8.
I'm gonna eventually get the whole damn set.
I settled on this collection to avoid repeats.
It's pretty darn good...
