shoes on the electric cable; zipcar
I keep noticing something on my walk to the bus stop in the morning, and thinking, "I should post about that in my Livejournal!"... but then I forget by the time I get to work. Today I remembered.
A couple blocks from my house, there is a phone/electric/whatever line with a pair of sneakers, tied together by laces, slung over it. Those who know what this means... know what it means. It amuses me.
Also, I signed up for Zipcar, considering that through work I get to waive every single fee except for a $25 signup and the car hourly/daily fees. I figure for $25 it's a useful backup to have, even if the cars seem prohibitively expensive for anything more than an hour trip ($8.50/hr generally).

Cause I thought it was a "wag the dog" reference until someone told me people have been stringing their old shoes over telephone wires for ages before that movie ever came out. hmmmm.....
