Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I just got home from seeing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with [livejournal.com profile] shogunhb and, uh, a friend of his. It was AWESOME. I really, really liked this movie, and I recommend it to each and every one of you.

Also, the character of Clementine made me really, really want to dye my hair again. :P

But anyway, see this movie.

Can you give me a reason why? Am willing to be convinced, but the basic premise of the plot (deliberately wiping memories of someone to be happier) for some reason is turning out to squick me pretty badly. Should I see it anyways?

Well, the reason I didn't go into it in more detail is because I don't want to spoil the movie - and there's quite a bit to be spoiled. But I can correct you on this: the basic premise of the plot is not that wiping memories of someone can make you happier. That device is actually the villain of the film. So if it squicks you, that is, well, good - the movie is on your side.

Does that help any more?

I saw it, too.

And it was AWESOME. I'm probably going to see it again, and I hardly ever see a movie twice in the theater.

Yeah, I might see it again if it involves taking someone else (like [livejournal.com profile] londo, who wasn't with me when I saw it). :)
