FA restrictions on hair

To those of you who were curious about my leg hair with regards to work:

c. Underarms on female flight attendants will be free from apparent hair. Legs will also be free from apparent hair or the uniform pants must be worn.

So, okay, you do have a point, hairless legs aren't mandatory. However, I think that wearing a skirt for interviews presents a more professional image - but only if legs are free from hair. For on the job, I don't know which I'd pick. I do like having hairless legs more than hairy, it's just the work involved that makes it a hassle. :)

And to [livejournal.com profile] xlost_girlx, it's not that waxing is mandatory, I just have bad results when I try to shave. My skin has never liked razors.

is it true that you have to be over a certain height too?

Not that I've seen, at least no part of the application process has involved giving them my height, but there is a general "you have to be able to do the job" height/weight restriction. If you can't reach things, there's a problem. But I'm fairly short (5'3") and I doubt there will be a problem.

If you're curious, the hiring packet is here (http://www.atlanticcoast.com/Employment/PreFlightTrainingPacket.pdf)... :) This isn't for applying, this is for after you've been accepted and you're getting ready to go to training.
