Angels in America, Psycho Beach Party

Last night at Adriana's we decided to use her HBO On Demand service to watch Angels in America. I ended up staying up even after she went to bed at 3am to watch all of it. When I was done, a little before 7am, I was so worked up I had to talk to someone, so I called and made an LJ phone post. It was one of the most emotionally naked monologues I've ever made.
And strangely, it's not here. It's not posted and the phonepost service says I've only used it twice (which would be the first two postings done the day I found out about it). I don't know what's going on, but I'm a bit weirded out by the loss of my pretty important speech.

Anyway: I spoke last night (or the night before) about a movie so good it made me want to open up my veins. This movie (well, miniseries) was the antithesis of that: it was so good it made me want to get up and move and dance and make love and call up my friends and tell them how much I like them. Unfortunately, it was 7am. I'm fairly certain that's early for most of the world, so I didn't do it.

Instead, after taking a bit of time to relax and recover, I browsed the other movies available from On Demand. To my surprise I saw Psycho Beach Party, an amazingly awesome movie that [livejournal.com profile] guvnor, [livejournal.com profile] scottage, and [livejournal.com profile] plastic_pilot introduced me to. So, I stayed up a few more hours watching that.

Then I slept for two hours and was awakened by Adriana at 11:30. We fiddled around for a while, went Christmas shopping for her neice, bought some Sudafed 12 hour (woo), then she let me borrow the van to drive home since I had forgotten I was going to spend two nights there. So now I'm on a brief hiatus at home. I'll shower, change clothes, eat, and head back to her place tonight. Whee!

This Sudafed is making me loopy. :D

Angels in America was most assuredly good. We watched it on On-Demand over two days. Very good. Very hard to watch in some parts. Painful. Beautiful.
