The Last of the Guacamole

I made guacamole last night. Ate half of it then, and just finished the other half. Ahh, the sigh that escapes my lips as I scoop up the last bite. Now I have to wait at least a week until I have money for more avacadoes...

A lot happened this weekend. Let me recap, if I may...

As you may recall, the last time I posted I had obtained 3 hours of sleep the night before, I was at work, and planning on returning to the yard sale after work. Well, when work ended I went home, ate some food, and decided that I needed a shower before returning to the Hotel. Then I decided that I had a container of black hair dye and I should use it. So I dyed my hair black, took a shower to wash out the dye and clean my body, got dressed, and returned to the Hotel.

Turns out it had rained while I showered, and all of the yard sale gear was tucked up in the front room of the Hotel. That was a mess, believe me. I fiddled around for a while and it was decided that since it was rainy, we would just put the yard sale stuff out in the morning again. So I stayed to listen to Gaea Spore practice (minus Thom), fell asleep on the floor of the practice room a few times (once on top of Karen's leg), and eventually moved myself to Chris's bed at around 11 and slept. He shoved me over sometime in the night to sleep next to me.

At six, Jon woke me up, and we set up the yard sale again. We sat outside for 13 hours and sold stuff. I came out with $80-odd dollars, but $36 of that was quarters and ones that I had donated in the first place, so I really came out with like $40ish. Still, buys a certain boy's birthday presents. ;) I stayed at the Hotel cleaning up, taking down signs, trashing stuff, and looting until about 11, then went home. Then I went out with Karen and Lyle grocery shopping. I found a pre-viewed copy of Riverdance for $2! I don't like Riverdance as much as Lord of the Dance, but it's still a good watch. Especially for $2. Then we went back to Karen's and watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the movie. It was bad... but fun. Not as good as Clueless. Like a weird mixture of Clueless and Evil Dead. Fear that, eh?

Then I went home and it was bedtime.

Sunday was a pretty boring day. I woke up, went and rented some movies, worked out, ate, and watched my movies while doing a LOT of sewing. I organized my sewing room so that I have stacks of sewing projects organized by difficulty/time. I completed my whole stack of simple/quick stuff (shortening straps, fixing rips, etc) and started in on the next stack (hemming - I hemmed up a really great plaid skirt that I've never worn before because it was too long, but now it's short and I can make a bad catholic school girl outfit). After that stack is the projects stack (taking in seams and other ideas that will take a bit of effort and thought), the complex projects stack (making a skirt out of an old silky bathrobe, etc), and the really damn hard stack (making dance costumes from near scratch). We'll see if I just conplete them from the bottom up, or try and work on more difficult things interspersed with easier things.

I also cooked a lot last night (hence guacamole) and ended up being awake until one.

I woke up at 7:30 this morning, exercised, and got dressed. Part of me wanted to wear something cool for school, and the other part wanted to not care. I compromised and wore my big green pants and my Voltron t-shirt. If it's someone with my ideas of cool, they'll think it's cool, and I don't care if someone else doesn't notice. ;)

Three months ago I set my Depo shot apointment for 9. I figured that wouldn't conflict with work or school too much. Well, I knew I'd have to skip P Math (8:30) but since it usually just takes 10 minutes to get there, go and get my shot, and leave, I figured I could still make it to Hist. of Sci. at 9:30. Well, turns out they've changed the procedure for shots... I had to sign in, then walk to the other side of the building and wait in line at the pharmacy to get my shot juice stuff, then walk back to the doctor's office and wait THERE to get the shot actually put in me. All in all I got out at 9:20 instead. And saved 92 cents. =P

So I walked in to campus (my bike tires turned out flat, I guess the heat?), bought my course packet for Hist. of Sci. ($28!!! $17 is royalties. =P), and showed up at the lab. The computers are neat except for the whole can't-install-programs thing. :( So unless we find some way to get around in, no ICQ there. At least until I get my computer back.

Then Karen and I had our first E&M class. Dr. Murphy is really neat. I think I will like the class if I remember the math enough. I also plan on scheduling big study groups during my lab time at night. ;)

Well that's a lot of stuff; I'm a busy girl. There haven't been many calls today, luckily.

I called the computer store, Aamcomp, from home before I came here for work. My computer is all fixed, they're just waiting for warranty approval or something like that. The DVD cable had to be re-routed somehow, and I don't know if something happened to the fan or not. The lady said that if they don't get the approval call or form in the next 2 days, they'll let me come get my computer anyway. *cross fingers*. So it'll be back by the end of the week!!

Also good news, Goldbug found me a hoodie! It's kelly green. I assume she is aware of all the requirements of one - she at least assured me that it's waist length, which is what I meant by cropped. Not cropped like the one Buffy wears in the movie. ;) I also got a scarf from Goldbug in the mail, like the one in her pictures but black. It is very neat - it's the color of my hair, so if I use it as a hair accessory it looks like I've done some kind of weird spikes with my hair. :)

The last order of business (near as I can remember)... next summer. I plan on paying the university $100 or whatever to hold my apartment for the summer, and jaunting off to Boston. The day they demand that by is just a few days after finals, if I remember right (I remember the sheet saying May 15th, and finals ended the 11th last semester according to the OU page). I plan on visiting Japan AND London during my stay there. According to the all-knowing Lyle, I will be able to find cheap overseas flights out of NYC or DC, and they are a short train or bus ride from Boston. So I will have a busy summer! Saving up for it is pretty imperative too.

But my first order of business is surviving this school year. Wish me luck!

you're just now in P-math? I thought you were way, way ahead of me in the math department. *shrug* I dunno I took intro to diff eq instead.

and Buffy the Vampire Slayer was way better than Clueless.

took Calc 3-4 my first year, no math last year, and linear over the summer. Now P-math. Haven't really taken tons of math.

Clueless rocks. I love the movie. Really. I cry at the end (happy tears). Buffy was just too cheesy for me to like it that much.
