jewelry woes and wows!

Sunday morning -- well it was more afternoon at that point in time, for Jason and I had slept in as you know already -- I did my normal regiment of exercise, being at the time one of my bellydance workout tapes. Afterwards, I made a saddening discovery... the little purple jewel in the bottom ball of my navel ring had fallen out. There was just an ugly gaping tarnished silver hole in all of the pretty shiny silver. I ran over the carpet with my hands in hopes that I would find the stone, but alas, it is still AWOL. So later that night I decided on a whim to remove the piercing altogether until Jason and I got to the store to get me a new one (which you should know by now he was going to buy for me since he owed me money).

It was very weird having a naked tummy.

We finally made it out to Campus Corner yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon... after work, Jason and I drove over there and, for our first mission, he got a haircut while I picked up Subway. Then we went into Red's.

Their collection is AWESOME. We must have looked at about 100 different pieces of jewelry, all for my bellybutton! There were 3 different cases and each had (as I recall) 4 rows and 8 columns. After some initial viewing, we limited our choices to 4 different rings - a small purple star, a larger crystal star, a very cool small crystal diamond with another, smaller, dangling crystal diamond from it, and the one I have now. I'm not going to tell you what it looks like because I think the verbal description would ruin the picture -- you have to wait until I can get the picture up on here for you to see (hopefully tomorrow, or tonight if I decide to stop by the lab for that express purpose). Anyway, we bought it and it was disinfected and the guy even offered to insert it for me for free! That was kind of weird, though, as if I can't put in my own jewelry... I was quite disturbed by the thought of this guy playing with my bellybutton. So anyway, I'm all a huge fan of Red's now. Oh, and there's a warranty on the jewerly too, so if it breaks I can get it replaced! Only thing that doesn't cover is losing the ball -- those are too easily lost.

The next time I have $30 extra, I'm getting the dangly crystal diamond. It was too cool. I think the only thing that chose the one I have over the diamond was that the diamond's barbell is a little bit longer than this one's, and we all know how short I am -- and shortness reflects in the bellybutton too. All my barbells so far have been the length of the diamond's and they always hit the bottom of my bellybutton. This new one, however, sits perfectly. Yay!

Sheesh, I'm so mean. I really should get the picture up here soon. Even if it is really blurry from being so close up ;)

Now the question I have. Do they stock tongue rings?

yeah, but mostly only 14 gauge. at least all the fun ones are 14 gauge. pfft.
i think they have a good jewelry selection, but they are a bit more pricey than other places.

Perfect. I believe that's the size I need to be looking in anyway. Now all I need is a good excuse to drive a hour to a jewelry store...

Oooo... good. And another now that I think of it, Thai food. Mix it all together and it's perfect.

Maybe we should mark all food-related topics so that pregnant women don't accidentally read them...

From my experience with them... yes, that'd be a really good idea.
