My Beliefs
A work in progress.
I believe that:
people are inherently good
"good" means holding a respect for human life (that is, life guided by rationality/thought/logic)
the highest goal attainable is personal happiness
happiness is not possible to a dead person, therefore, life is necessary to reach the highest goal
it is only possible to be happy through and about the results of your own worth (therefore people require just compensation and respect for their work in order to be happy)
love, and all other emotions, are based in respect - either respect for others, or respect for yourself - or lack thereof
people are capable of solitary living, but choose to live together for the mental stimulation and mutual respect
to work against your own interests, happiness, and worth is to work towards your own death
giving to others does not always mean taking from yourself
taking from others, when not voluntarily given (so it is not a recognition of their respect for you), does not bring about happiness
